As part of the Al Sarab Dance School curriculum, students in classes SI2, SA1, SA2, and SJC are subject to an academic examination every year. And this year, to no exception, the students went through a series of workshops and showings led by Ms Sarah Fadel to prepare them for this event.
On the 23rd of June, the students presented their works – Group Choreography, Collaborative Solos, Solo for others – To a jury.
The jury comprised of three experts:
Ms Rosanna Lahoud: Representative of the Al Sarab Dance Company ASDC
Ms Myriam Barakat: Representative of Al Sarab Dance School and teaching team ASDS
Mr Vladimir Panzhev: The external judge.
The showcase included the students presenting their works for a live feedback from the judges, who then decided on 4 winners to be showcase at the beginning of the recital on June 27th.
The Choreography winners are (in no particular order):
Carla Abboud’s Solo: “C’est La vie!” – Performed by Mia Chahwane
Hilda Habib’s Solo: “Controlling time” – Performed by herself
Anna Maria Daccache’s Solo/Group Dance: “A Simple Complication” – Performed by herself, Sarah Khoury, Melanie Daccache, Nour Moawad, and Caline Obeid
Marita Matar’s Group Dance: “Rebirth” – Performed by Yara Mansour, Gaelle Abdo, Jeanne D’arc El Hachem, and Christelle Mouannes.
Congratulations to all of our students, they have worked hard and the showcase was an incredible success with grades higher than any of the other years.
